Oli Cima is an acoustic and electric guitarist. This artist originally from Namur, long searched to define himself musically but was eventually seduced by the flamenco style. Since 2000, Oli Cima perfection himself through regular visit in Spain where he follows master classes with the greatest of the genre. Today, he shares his passion through Mary y Sol, his latest album and the basis of his new show.
Oli Cima :
It is, let’s say, a world music project which comprise my own flamenco and jazz influence with the intervention of others musicians and their own jazz or flamenco influence. And of course, there is Mary y Sol Valderrama which will dance and undoubtedly enflame…shall we say, the audience!
Host:
A sextet show between guitarist, bass, drums and dance to be discovered January 30 in Profondeville. Other location, other atmosphere at the Belvedère, January 23, where Oli Cima proposes a slightly rearranged show.
Oli Cima :
At the Belvedère, I will play in duo with my drummer. It’s a formula I am starting to slowly develop. It will be a bit shorter than the show taking place in Profondeville. It will, principally, be my compositions which emphasize flamenco guitar and drums.
Host:
Be advised that before the concert, a debate is proposed at 8:00 pm at the Belvedère. The theme is: To whom is music profitable? How do independent artist deal with a market where a few retain a monopole?
Philippe Gaillé of du Vert du Roc and Jean-Yves Laffineur d'Esperanzah will be there to answer these questions. If you wish to participate in this debate before letting Oli Cima’s notes transport you, I invite you Friday, at the Belvedere, in Namur.
Host:
A truly beautiful music. Let’s remind everyone that Oli Cima is from Namur.
